Inside Angelina Jolie’s ‘Relaxed’ Summer With Her Kids – Is She Dating?

Angelina Jolie is having the L.A. summer of her dreams.

Jolie, 50, “is savoring the summer in her hillside home nestled in Los Angeles, a pleasure made all the more special by the presence of her children,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting that the Oscar-winning actress is “embracing” the warmer weather and is “happy” to have most of her kids by her side.

“She may be a huge movie star, filmmaker and humanitarian, but her ultimate and most rewarding role remains being a mom,” the insider explains. “She loves having them all under one roof again.”

Jolie shares six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. The source tells Us that her youngest children “are all there” on the west coast with their mom for the summer while Maddox, who spends most of his time in NYC, has “visited.”

As for her personal life, Jolie “isn’t dating” right now, the insider says, and there’s “no mystery man in her life” as she continues to focus on work and motherhood. “She’s single and she seems very content,” the source tells Us, noting that “the kids are growing up so fast, she knows these times won’t last forever.”

The insider adds that while Jolie may be the “epitome of a superstar, at home she’s a regular mom, juggling her career and a house full of kids and dogs who run wild and have free rein of the house.” With a “super chill” parenting style, Jolie isn’t “a helicopter mom at all,” but someone who embraces the “chaos” and “enjoys an unstructured environment” with her brood.

“There are bikes, skateboards, scooters” all around the residence and Shiloh, who recently made her debut as a choreographer at Isabel Marant’s capsule collection with Net-A-Porter last month, even “has her own space to dance and choreograph,” the insider reveals, while “Zahara has a boyfriend.”

“Planning family dinners isn’t even a thing since the kids end up ordering what they want,” the insider adds. “It’s a very relaxed summer with the kids coming and going, basically doing their own thing, which is fine with Angie.”

According to the source, the whole family has “things going on.” That includes Jolie, who — when not bonding with her kids — fills her days with “a little bit of work, making calls and prioritizing future projects.”

As Jolie continues her low-key summer, her ex Pitt, 61, is front and center as he travels the world promoting his new film, F1, with girlfriend Ines de Ramon on his arm.

“Brad’s in a good place,” a source exclusively shared in a recent Us cover story of the actor, who revealed in a 2017 GQ interview that he’d gotten sober and was looking at his “weaknesses and failures and owning my side of the street.” A second source close to Pitt added: “He’s done a lot of therapy over the years.”

Despite riding high these days, Pitt seems to still have a strained relationship with some of his children. Last month, Shiloh legally dropped “Pitt” from her name on her 18th birthday, while Zahara and Vivienne also appear to go by “Jolie.” In 2020, Pax called Pitt a “world-class a**hole” in a since-deleted Instagram post.

According to a second insider, those close to Pitt  “know about the deep emotional weight he carries, particularly about his family,” saying that he “has made several efforts to reconnect with his kids” and sees the twins “periodically.”

After a decade of dating, Jolie and Pitt were married in 2014 but split in 2016. They battled for custody of their minor children and ownership of their French winery amid their divorce, which was finalized in December 2024.

In the Monday, June 23, episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast, Pitt admitted he “needed rebooting” and sought AA treatment after the breakup.

“I was pretty much on my knees, and I was really open,” he told host Dax Shepard. “I was trying anything and everyone. Anything anyone threw at me. It was a difficult time. I needed rebooting. I needed to wake the f*** up in some areas. And it just meant a lot to me.”
