When Will Anne Burrell’s Final ‘Worst Cooks in America’ Season Air?

The final season of Anne Burrell’s Worst Cooks in America will air this summer.

As reported by TVLine on Monday, June 23, Worst Cooks in America: Talented and Terrible will premiere on Monday, June 28, at 9 p.m. ET. on Food Network. The full season was filmed prior to Burrell’s unexpected death on June 17.

Burrell will, for the last time, be in charge of a group of entertainers who are hopeless in the kitchen as they strive to improve their cooking skills. Burrell co-hosted alongside Italian chef and TV personality Gabe Bertaccini. The show has aired for more than 20 seasons and Burrell filmed more than 200 episodes in her lifetime.

Prior to the season’s premiere, Food Network will also air a tribute to Burrell on Wednesday, June 25, which will include encore episodes that will “highlight her extraordinary talent as a chef, competitor and teacher,” TVLine also reported.

Anne Burrell Had Cryptic Response for ‘Worst Cooks’ Absence Before Death

The chef’s family confirmed her death at age 55 in a statement to Us Weekly.

“​​Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered,” the statement read. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”

On June 18, a rep for the New York City Fire Department told multiple outlets a 911 caller claimed that Burrell went into “cardiac arrest” and was “DOA [dead on arrival].” Burrell’s cause of death has not been confirmed, but a report published by The New York Times on Friday, June 20, indicated the New York City Police Department is investigating whether a possible drug overdose is the cause of Burrell’s death.

The New York City Police Department confirmed that Burrell was found unresponsive inside her home in Brooklyn, New York, on June 17. A spokesperson for the department told Us Burrell was pronounced dead “at the scene” after officers responded to a 911 call and found “an unconscious and unresponsive” 55-year-old female.

Tributes poured in for the celebrity chef after news broke of Burrell’s untimely death.

“We are deeply saddened to share the news that beloved chef, Anne Burrell, passed away this morning,” Food Network wrote in a statement. “Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent — teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring. Our thoughts are with Anne’s family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss.”
