Dermot Mulroney and Prima Apollinaare have experienced a lot together.
The duo, who married one year after Mulroney and his first wife Catherine Keener called it quits in 2007, have been together since 2008 and share two daughters, Mabel and Sally Mulroney is also dad to a son, Clyde, who he shares with Keener.
On Monday, June 23, news broke that Mulroney had filed for divorce from Apollinaare. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Mulroney is asking for spousal support while also requesting the court block Apollinaare from receiving any financial support from him. (TMZ was the first to report the news.)

The couple were notoriously private and little is known about the beginning of their relationship. That is something the My Best Friend’s Wedding actor touched on in a 2024 interview with Entertainment Weekly. He told the outlet that he and Apollinaare were tapped to perform on Fox’s We Are Family in part because they, “knew Prima’s music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple even though we’ve been together for 20 years.”

Mulroney and Apollinaare welcomed two daughters, Mabel Ray and Sally, in 2008 and 2009, respectively. In October 2008, People reported that Mabel was baptized at San Pietro’s Church in Roccascalegna, Italy.

According to court documents obtained by Us, Mulroney and Apollinaare married in 2010.
2015
When she met Mulroney, Apollinaare’s name was Tharita Catulle (she also went by Tharita Cesaroni, her mother’s last name). TMZ reported that the singer changed her name in January 2015.
February 2024
Dermot Mulroney Splits From Prima Apollinaare After 14 Years of Marriage
The pair brought their musical chops to the small screen in a February 2024 appearance on Fox’s We Are Family. The show featured non-famous relatives of celebrities performing with their famous counterparts, with Mulroney and Apollinaare serving as the series’ first married couple.
The duo performed Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ “Islands in the Stream” together.
“It was such an amazing phone call to get that the show reached out to us. They knew Prima’s music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple even though we’ve been together for 20 years,” Mulroney told Entertainment Weekly at the time. “Kind of a stealth Hollywood couple. So it really works perfectly for this show.”

The family adopted a dog together in 2024. Mulroney shared the news via Instagram, where he wrote, “Woof! she did it again – @shesingshesung rescued another one. meet Sweetie aka Swee’ Pea 
.”
2025
On June 23, 2025, TMZ reported that Mulroney filed for divorce from Apollinaare after 14 years of marriage. In court documents viewed by Us, the actor also requested spousal support for himself and that the judge block Apollinaare from doing the same. Mulroney also asked that the pair share custody of their two children.
