Kacey Musgraves apologized to fans after she was forced to postpone a Nashville appearance due to a health scare.
“Sooo I’m in Mexico with a f***ing broken rib,” Musgraves, 36, shared via Instagram Stories on Friday, June 20. “Wednesday night it was raining and I was running to grab some towels and had an extremely hard fall on some very slick tile I didn’t see. Thankful I didn’t smack my head but I landed very very hard on my back left ribcage and I broke rib number 6.”
Musgraves shared a photo of her chest X-ray along with the explanation.

“This s*** is no joke. I’m in a lot of pain and doing ANYTHING is extremely difficult but I’m managing and being well taken care of,” she continued. “There is no physical way I can get on a plane and fly back to Nashville.”

The singer was set to appear at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville alongside Paul Stamets for a live taping of his “Sing for Science” podcast.
“I am extremely bummed to have to reschedule as I have been looking forward to this for months but there is literally no other option,” Musgraves concluded. “I’m so sorry for the inconvenience.”
The appearance was rescheduled for Thursday, September 18.

A second Instagram video showed Musgraves zooming in on the broken rib on her X-ray results. The singer added a GIF that read, “Pain,” and an arrow pointing to the break.
It’s unclear whether Musgraves is set to perform at the upcoming podcast taping or just discuss “the magic of mushrooms” as explained on the Ryman Auditorium website.
“Together, they’ll delve into the fascinating world of psilocybin, exploring what gives ‘magic mushrooms’ their magic,” the event description reads. “Discover how psilocybin is revolutionizing mental health care, its extraordinary biology, and its profound potential to change lives. Don’t miss this enlightening and unforgettable event!”
