Lizzo is opening up about her body transformation and whether she’s ever tried Ozempic.
“I’ve tried everything,” the “About Damn Time” singer responded when asked whether she has used GLP-1 medications in the past to aid her weight loss during a Thursday, June 19, interview on Trisha Paytas’ “Just Trish” podcast.
Lizzo, 37, has publicly shared her weight loss journey with fans via social media over the last couple of years. In January, she revealed that she had dropped 16% body fat and lowered her body mass index by 10.5 since January 2023.

Lizzo Through the Years: From Musical Festival Performer to Grammy Winner
“It’s just the science for me — calories in versus calories out. Ozempic works because you eat less food,” Lizzo told Paytas during Thursday’s podcast episode. “That’s it. It makes you feel full. If you can just do that on your own — mind over matter — it’s the same thing.”
In January, Lizzo celebrated hitting her goal weight, two years after she began an “intentional” journey to transform her body.
“I did it,” the Grammy winner wrote via Instagram. “Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal.”

She added, “I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”
On Thursday, Lizzo told Paytas, also 37, that while she never felt that doors were closed to her while she was bigger — recalling walking the red carpet at the Met Gala — she feels like her life has improved over the last couple of years.
“I feel like I worked really, really hard. It was intentional, what I did with my body. So when I get compliments, I’m like, ‘Thanks, bitch!’ I really receive it because I need to receive that. I don’t take it any weird way,” she explained. “I worked so hard for it. The people who compliment me see me working hard for it — they see me in my calorie [deficit], they see me exercising every day, walking.”
Celebrities Who’ve Spoken About the Ozempic Weight Loss Trend
“I do think believe I look good as f***. Everything in my life kind of elevated. It wasn’t just releasing the weight. It was just where I was at in my life, my team,” she said. “I do feel like I am the baddest. No matter what size, at this point in my life, I am on another level.”
As well as her weight loss, Lizzo praised her skincare routine and Invisalign for helping her look and feel her best.
In April, the “Juice” songstress opened up about some of her new eating habits during a TikTok Live.
Lizzo shared that she once consumed “two to three” large Starbucks drinks a day, estimating that she drank around 1,2000 calories daily. The singer said she gave up her daily dose of Starbucks after realizing how many calories she was consuming and that giving up coffee also helped to “regulate my nervous system,” per People.
As for her daily diet, Lizzo said she starts her day with something “super savory,” foregoing “sugary stuff.”
“I do something sweet. It’s gotta be with some sort of like carb. I’ll have like almond butter and toast,” she said.
