Former 16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis is opening up about what she claims went down at her 16-year-old son’s funeral.
“I’m gonna stand up for myself this time,” Whitney wrote via Facebook on Wednesday, June 18, after her son was laid to rest. “Just to clear up some things [that] happened over the weekend, my son’s funeral was this past Saturday. My son’s father told me it was at 4. … You would think with little Weston dying that we could put our differences aside right? Nope. It always has to be drama. You had to be on a list to get into the funeral. Guess who wasn’t on the list? Me and all my friends and family were not allowed to come in.”
According to Whitney, several witnesses heard the funeral home tell the grieving mom that she was “not on the list.”
From our partners:
“It wouldn’t matter what time I got there. I wasn’t getting in,” she claimed. “If that wasn’t sick enough, they tried to spin it around and say I was two hours late to his funeral and I knew it was at 2. Like come the hell on, I would never!!”
Look Back at ’16 and Pregnant’ Alum Whitney and Ex Weston’s Relationship
On Tuesday, June 17, Purvis’ ex, Weston Gosa Sr., told TMZ he informed everyone that the viewing was scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with the service set to begin right at 4.
Weston Sr. claimed he called his ex personally a week in advance to invite her to their son’s funeral, allegedly making it clear the event would be tightly monitored with a strict guest list. West Sr. claimed Whitney didn’t arrive until after 4:15 p.m. when the service was already underway and the chapel doors were allegedly locked.
Us Weekly has reached out to Weston Sr. for comment on Whitney’s latest Facebook post.

On June 2, Whitney shared the tragic news that her teenage son Weston Jr. — whom she shared with Weston Sr. — had died at the age of 16. An official cause of death has yet to be revealed.
Weston Jr. was born in April 2009 during the first season of MTV’s 16 and Pregnant.
In her latest social media post, Whitney expressed her wishes that family members could have put any drama to the side to honor Weston’s life.
16 and Pregnant’s Whitney Purvis Recalls Memories With Son Before His Death
“Why could we not just celebrate our love for Weston? You have to take this opportunity to make me suffer even more,” she said. “I’ve made mistakes in life but I wasn’t a horrible mother. … I’m the parent who threw bday parties, I’m the parent that made every holiday special and always took pictures. My biggest downfall was being poor.”
In her social media post, Whitney described the whole situation as “sad and hopeless.” She also shared her belief that Weston Jr. wouldn’t want this to be happening.
“He deserved better parents — myself included,” she wrote. “I’m not saying I was the perfect parent by any means cause who is?”
