Rebel Wilson’s ‘Bride Hard’ Injury: What Happened and What She Has Said

Rebel Wilson had a nasty accident while filming her film, Bride Hard.

Wilson, 45, started filming the action comedy in July 2023 alongside her former Pitch Perfect costar Anna Camp. As the production began to wrap up the following month, the actress shared on social media that she suffered an injury while on set.

“NOT the way I wanted to end this movie!” she wrote via her Instagram Story alongside a snap of her with a swollen and bloody nose, per Entertainment Tonight. “3 stitches and in hospital last night after a stunt accident at 4am.”

One week later, Wilson thanked fans for their well-wishes amid her recovery process.

“I’ve actually been healing quite amazing,” she said in a video shared via her story, according to People. “The stitches have dissolved out from my on set accident last week.”

In the clip, Wilson recalled how she was injured during the final day of filming.

“In the middle of a night shoot, my last scene of the movie, so I’d done all these kick-ass fight sequences and then just in the last one I got hit in the face with the butt of a gun,” she reflected. “So it was a complete accident and was such a shock. But luckily I’m healing very well, so I wanted to say thank you for everybody’s well wishes.”

After making a full recovery nearly two years later, Wilson started reliving her injury as Bride Hard geared up for its theatrical release. While promoting the action comedy in an interview with Access Hollywood in June, Wilson gave more details about the incident.

“In a fight scene, a gun accidentally got whacked across my face. It was just a freak accident, and my nose got split open, so I left set,” she recalled. “It was really my last night of shooting. I was like, ‘How unlucky can I be?’”

Wilson shared that there was a “pool of blood” after her nose was “busted open.”

“I was freaking out. They take an ambulance and they have to call a plastic surgeon, because if they didn’t I would have been permanently disfigured,” she said. “So we got the plastic surgeon, they did all the stitches, and you can’t tell now — really, you can’t tell.”

Wilson stars in Bride Hard as Sam, a secret agent and maid of honor at the wedding of her childhood best friend, Betsy, played by Camp. The lavish ceremony is taken hostage by mercenaries and it’s up to Sam to save the day. The film hits theaters on Friday, June 20.
