Which ‘XO, Kitty’ Star Confirmed They Are ‘Not Coming Back’ for Season 3?

An XO, Kitty star just revealed that “everybody” from the cast is coming back to film season 3 — except for them.

Most of the show’s stars have been documenting their time in Korea as they prepare to start production on season 3. Audrey Huynh, meanwhile, confirmed Stella would not be making an appearance when asked by fans on social media.

“Everyone else is [filming] but I’m unfortunately not coming back,” Huynh, 19, wrote via TikTok on Sunday, June 15. “So so excited for the next season though.”

XO, Kitty, which debuted in May 2023, is an extension of Jenny Han‘s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before universe as Lara Jean’s younger sister, Kitty (Anna Cathcart), makes the move from the U.S. to South Korea for a long-distance romance. However, Kitty’s decision to go to high school overseas opens her eyes to new experiences — and people.

Kitty initially started the series in a relationship with Dae (Choi Min-young) before realizing her feelings for Yuri (Gia Kim). The second season, which premiered in January, got even more complicated as Kitty found herself stuck in a love triangle with Yuri and Min-ho (Sang Heon Lee).

Huynh played Stella a.k.a Min-ho’s girlfriend who had a secret identity. Once Min-ho found out the truth, he ultimately broke things off with Stella, which would explain why she wouldn’t make an appearance in future seasons. Instead, Min-ho ended the second season planning to go on tour with his brother — with Kitty tagging along.

Cathcart, 22, previously spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about what she wanted to see happen for Kitty.

“It’s definitely Kitty’s heart at the end of the day that is what I want to see succeed. I just want her to follow what feels right for her,” Cathcart shared in March 2024. “And if she’s doing that, I definitely think I’ll be supportive of that.”

Shocking TV Exits Through the Years

Cathcart said she enjoyed getting to see Kitty explore her options, adding, “I’ve definitely brought up a few times — even just in conversation with writers — and with different people on the show about where this could go. I think Kitty doesn’t always need to be with [a] person either. I think Kitty’s story is kind of a love letter to the world.”

The actress went on to praise XO, Kitty for allowing Kitty’s story to evolve.

“She’s so excited about so many things and learning about her family and helping out her friends and discovering just what the world has to offer,” Cathcart continued. “It’s not just a love story with another partner necessarily. I think a lot of her love comes from a lot of different directions.”

XO, Kitty is currently streaming on Netflix and has been renewed for season 3.
