Meghan Markle Announces ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ Podcast Hiatus

Meghan Markle is taking a break from her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast to focus on her business.

The Lemonada Media-produced podcast premiered in April and featured the Duchess of Sussex, 43, seeking advice from other successful female entrepreneurs while building her own brand, As Ever. For the show’s first season, Meghan talked to guests including Bumble’s Whitney Wolfe Herd, Spanx founder Sara Blakely and Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, who cofounded the singer’s Cécred hair care brand.

Meghan told businesswoman Emma Grede on the Tuesday, June 17, episode of the latter’s “Aspire With Emma Grede” podcast that she is now taking on board all of the things she learned while making the podcast and putting them into practice.

“I love that there’s so much excitement and desire for a second season, but I need to focus on my business,” she reasoned.

What Meghan Markle’s Friends, Colleagues Said About Her and Public Opinion

“Very rarely do people see everything that’s happening behind the scenes. I show a small glimpse of that, but equally, I wrapped season 1 of my Netflix series [and] still had to promote it, still had to be in edits for season 2 … I just wrapped edits on season 2 last week,” she said, referring to her lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, which premiered in March.

Meghan continued, “It’s still ongoing while also doing the podcast, while also building my business. At a certain point, the only thing I want spread thin is my jam!”

While “Confessions” is on pause for now, Meghan hopes to bring the show back after As Ever grows out of its infancy.

Serena Williams Says As Ever Box From Meghan Markle Is the ‘Best Surprise’

“I would love to bring the show back when I am at a different end of my founder journey,” Meghan explained. “When I’ve gone through Q4 and say, ‘Here are my proof points … wow, what a year it’s been.’ Or even longer than that. I think a different time will be so exciting to compare and contrast.”

“I know people want another one. I just made a choice to say, ‘It’s a really good time to put all of my energy into the thing that I’m building,’” the royal added.

Meghan’s As Ever brand dropped its first line of products in the entertaining and cooking spaces in early April. The duchess’ signature raspberry jam, wildflower honey, flower sprinkles and more sold out in less than an hour via the As Ever website.

As Ever shared on Monday, June 16, that a second product drop will take place on Friday, June 20, featuring both old and new products.
