The Princess of Wales, 43, wowed in a teal suit with a matching fascinator during the Saturday, June 14, ceremony in London, matching her 10-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte’s own turquoise frock. They arrived to the parade in an open-top carriage with Kate and husband Prince William‘s two sons: Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, 7.
Kate joined her family — including father-in-law King Charles III and husband William, 42 — at the annual event, which celebrates the monarch’s birthday with a parade. Charles’ actual birthday falls on November 14, but it is tradition for the sovereign to be honored with Trooping the Colour each June.

Last year, Kate made her first public appearance of 2024 at Trooping the Colour after taking a step back from her royal duties that January amid her cancer battle. She stunned in a white dress by Jenny Packham and a coordinating Philip Treacy hat at the time as she accompanied William and their three children to the event.

This January, Kate shared an update on her health after confirming in September 2024 that she had completed chemotherapy treatments.
“It is a relief to now be in remission,” she wrote via Instagram after the new year. “And I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal.”
Kate resumed her royal duties in September 2024, and while she is back at work, she has continued to prioritize her health.
“Kate’s return to royal duties has been careful and considered, reflecting her need to protect her well-being,” royal commentator Afua Acheampong-Hagan exclusively told Us Weekly in April. “Her ability to manage this transition will set a precedent for how the royal family balances duty with personal well-being in the future.”

Amid Kate’s new normal, a Sunday Times report in February claimed that she wanted to shift the focus from her wardrobe to her work, with plans to stop sharing all of her outfit details with the press.
“There is an absolute feeling that it [the public work] is not about what the princess is wearing,” a palace source told the outlet at the time.
“She wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people and the causes she is spotlighting,” the insider continued. “There will always be an appreciation of what the princess is wearing from some of the public and she gets that. But do we need to be officially always saying what she is wearing? No. The style is there but it’s about the substance.”
After the alleged new strategy made headlines, a Kensington Palace spokesperson clarified that the comments did not come directly from Kate, adding, “To be clear, there has been no change in our approach to sharing information about Her Royal Highness’s clothing.”
