Jenelle Evans says she had an “aha” moment when she knew it was time to divorce David Eason.
“I think he cheated on me with his ex-wife,” Evans, 33, exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 11, before her “I Do, I Did, I’m Done” divorce party at Spearmint Rhino in New York. “When those text messages came out, that was pretty much the breaking point.”
In October 2023, Eason allegedly sent his ex-wife text messages claiming he wished he could “turn back the clock.”
From our partners:
While Evans didn’t file for separation until March 2024, Eason denied the allegations and addressed the texts telling Celebuzz, “That’s not cheating but I have mountains of evidence about her cheating.” (Evans has also denied being unfaithful.)
Jenelle Evans Says David Eason Relationship Was a ‘Big Mistake’
In her latest interview, Evans made it clear that there were many problems in the relationship. Over time, the MTV reality star said she realized it was time to file for divorce.

“His attitude that he had, putting everyone in a bad mood all the time,” she told Us. “Everyone was walking on eggshells and I’m like, I don’t have to live like this and I don’t have to stay together just because we have kids.”
Us has reached out to Eason for comment on Evans’ latest interview.
While Evans admitted the thought of raising kids alone was initially scary, the Teen Mom 2 alum — who shares Jace, 15, with Andrew Lewis, Kaiser, 10, with Nathan Griffith, and Ensley, 8, with Eason — said she’s in a much better place as she calls Las Vegas home.

“It took a little time to get used to, but now I’m enjoying my alone time,” she said. “I’m feeling great because I’m taking the time to heal for myself and taking this time to be alone.”
Teen Mom 2’s Jenelle Evans and David Eason’s Ups and Downs
On Thursday, June 12, Evans headed to Spearmint Rhino in New York and enjoyed a divorce party complete with friends, cake and a 3-foot piñata modeled after her ex-husband’s face.
Before celebrating, Evans said she wasn’t interested in dating at the moment. Instead, she has her eyes on various businesses and being the best parent possible.
“I’ve always jumped from relationship to relationship, so I feel like this is the best time for me to finally learn to be alone,” she explained. “[I can] tell myself it’s OK to be alone and just focus on your kids and you don’t need to always have a man there beside you.”
